Chatsworth has been in the media this week as we are hosting our annual Beyond Limits sculpture exhibition with Sotheby’s. We’ve been the first to display two new works by Damien Hirst, named Myth, a life sized unicorn, and Legend, the Pegasus. They have half of their skins missing to reveal the anatomy beneath, and are placed beautifully (though this may vary with personal opinion) at the end of the Canal Pond.
The sculpture selection ranges with the serenity of Jaume Plensa’s ‘Chloe’s World’ (pictured) to the dramatic, with Ji Yong-Ho’s ‘Lion 2’, which is a favourite among visitors who have already seen it in the garden. I’m sure that every visitor will be able to pick out at least one favourite. We’ve already noticed pictures popping up as people post their photos online, one in particular being the focus of rude analogies (I’m not going to say which).
Take a look at the sculpture map to see exactly what is on display. There are also free guided tours every day at 11.30 and 2.30pm for anybody who would like to learn more about the pieces. All the key information is on www.chatsworth.org/beyondlimits

There is a buzz of excitement amongst the wedding team as we get ready to host our first autumn Wedding Fair. We have some fantastic suppliers coming along to show off all their exquisite products and services, beautiful cakes, amazing flowers and two gorgeous brides modelling designer dresses. Adam our Head Chef will be re-creating the wedding breakfast and everyone coming along will get to taste the mouth watering dishes and enjoy a glass of fizz. Our February Wedding Fair was a huge success so we are hoping that an evening fair will be just as popular. Come along and join us from 5pm until 9pm in the stables courtyard.

It’s been really exciting to watch all of the sculptures being moved into position for our annual Sotheby’s Beyond Limits sculpture exhibition in the garden from 16 September to 30 October.
This year we are giving sculpture tours throughout the Beyond Limits exhibition, free with garden admission, everyday at 11.30am and 2.30pm. It will give visitors a chance to explore sculpture in the garden with one of our guides, who will be providing highlights and background to each piece. The tours start from Flora’s Temple and last approximately 1¼ hours.
We are already getting asked plenty of questions about the new pieces so please do come along and enjoy a more in-depth look at some of the most fascinating sculptures Chatsworth has seen!
