Tessa the shorthorn cow gave birth to the first new arrival at the farmyard this season on 7 March, shortly followed by Betty the Gloucester old spot pig who farrowed on the 8 March. Betty was due to give birth first, but Tessa caught us out and had her bull calf unaided 2 weeks early!
